Message from Campus Dean

Mount Kenya University is best defined by its tagline: Unlocking Infinite Possibilities. The university offers cutting edge courses driven by its highly qualified members of staff and state-of-the-art facilities to students to afford them an opportunity to reach horizons that only a properly educated person can reach.

The Mount Kenya University Parklands Law Campus hosts the School of Law that empowers tomorrow’s legal leaders. The School prides itself with facilities like the state-of-the-art Moot Court which allows students to experience the atmosphere of the court room as they moot on various problems in Law.

The School has highly qualified and trained members of staff who are essentially practitioners in Law. These are people running their Law Firms, are representing clients in Court, are drafting commercial agreements for clients, are undertaking research and consultancy, and are therefore experienced in the areas they teach. They are easily approachable, and each one of them is qualified to teach the Law. Our seminar rooms are designed for the ideal academic environment, and learners are afforded an opportunity to face their classmates and the lecturer head-on as they debate issues of Law. The non-academic members of staff are adequately trained and qualified to serve in their dockets and to readily help the learner out while at the School of Law of Mount Kenya University.

Our library is well equipped with the most recent books in Law. Learners and their lecturers can also access these books and other materials through our online repository.

There is a reason everyone now wants to study Law at MKU School of Law, and the reason is not obvious. It is now clear that the School of Law of Mount Kenya University is the only School of Law in Kenya that gives learners the flexibility that they deserve. With both Day and Evening Modules, learners can elect to enrol and study at their convenience. The Evening Module is designed to accommodate those who are also practising their professions, so, they can work during the day and join class at 5:30pm. The strategic location of the School at the heart of the City makes it even more convenient.

The School of Law is accredited by the Council for Legal Education to offer Diploma in Law, Bachelor’s Degree in Law, and Master of Laws. The Master of Laws program is offered virtually, with students having the opportunity to attend class from wherever they are, whether in Kenya or outside Kenya.
